India Yamaha Motor has launched its much awaited scooter the Ray ZR Street Rally Edition in India. The Ray ZR Street Rally Edition has been launched at price of Rs. 57,898 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). First time Rally Edition of Ray ZR Street was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. According to the company the design of scooter has been inspired by other global models of Yamaha. To give a sporty look the front headlight gets a ‘wing-style’ fairing inspired from the Yamaha MT-09.

Speaking about the launch, Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd. said, “Yamaha’s Cygnus Ray ZR ‘Street Rally’ Edition perfectly combines power and style that makes it an aspirational buy. Continuing with Yamaha’s legacy to provide technologically advanced, sporty and stylish products, ‘Street Rally’ will bring excitement to scooter customers who look for sporty scooters with easy manoeuvring along with smooth power delivery. The globally known ‘Unique style of Yamaha’ that outlines any product innovation including the ‘Street Rally’ edition will help the brand to keep up its incremental ascent in the Indian two wheeler market.”

The company has equipped new knuckle-guards to protect the hands from wind-blast. The Ray ZR Street Rally Edition also gets the the ‘rising air’ fully digital instrument console, rear end and the roller rocker arm just to reduces the loss of power at low speeds. The Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally edition comes in two colours Rally Red and Racing Blue. According to company the scooter will hit the dealerships from the last week of July 2018.

The Street Rally edition scooter is powered by 113 cc single-cylinder Blue Core engine which generates max power of 7.2 bhp and a peak torque of 8.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a CVT unit. Some of the other features include a 170 mm front disc brake, 21-litre underseat stowage, a front pocket for storing knick knacks, key secure grip and a two-level single seat.
