2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Launched In India At Starting Price Of Rs. 4.19 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new 2019 version of Wagon R in India. The 2019 Wagon R has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 4.19 lakh for the base model and go up to Rs. 5.69 lakh for the top-spec variant (all ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the third generation of Wagon R which is bigger and better in terms of size and looks as compared to the previous models. The front is decorated with new stylish headlamps and all new broad grille. The bumper up-front is also re-design with trapezoidal housing for the fog lamps.

The rear side also re-designed with a new elongated tail lamp along with new tail-gate. The dimensions and space is more compared to previous models as it is built on the Heartect platform which also underpins the Baleno and the Swift. The new 2019 Wagon R is now longer by 60 mm at 3,655 mm and wider by 145 mm at 1,620 mm, but it’s also shorter now by 25 mm at 1,675 mm. Wheelbase is also longer by 35 mm. There is more space inside the cabin.

The new platform provides more safety through effective absorption of impact and dispersion of crash energy and assures stability. In the body of car Use of 40% high tensile steel provides better strength, safety, rigidity, and NVH performance.

The new Wagon R is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine generates a max power of 82 bhp and a peak torque of 113-newton meters. The 1-liter unit generates a max power of 67 bhp and a peak torque of 90 Nm. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Inside the cabin, the new Wagon R is decorated with a new dashboard and a new touchscreen infotainment system with a classy two-tone finish. The equipped system is termed as SmartPlay Studio by Maruti, and it offers smartphone connectivity, vehicle information, and cloud-based services along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Maruti Suzuki will also offer a 5-speed AMT or AGS on the new Wagon R from start. The new Wagon R will compete with the new Hyundai Santro along with the Tata Tiago. The bookings the new Wagon R has already begun with a token amount of Rs. 11,000.
