Tata Motors has officially brought back the iconic Sierra nameplate to the Indian market. The all-new Tata Sierra SUV has been launched at an introductory starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This marks the return of the Sierra brand after more than two decades, making it one of the most anticipated launches of the year. While the internal combustion engine (ICE) version is now on sale, the electric Sierra will arrive in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Sierra is available in seven trims: Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. Bookings will open on December 16, 2025, and deliveries are set to begin on January 15, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built on Tata\u2019s New A.R.G.O.S Architecture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tata has developed the new Sierra on its A.R.G.O.S Architecture, a flexible multi-energy platform that supports petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid powertrains, and even AWD layouts. The company claims that the platform has been engineered with improved vehicle dynamics, high safety focus, and a digital-ready electronic setup. This new architecture also supports different wheelbases and body styles for future models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Design with a Touch of Nostalgia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The original Sierra was known for its unique silhouette and large rear glass. The new model carries that emotion forward but with a modern design language. It is now a proper 5-door SUV instead of the old 3-door layout. Tata has used large, flush-mounted windows and a blacked-out C-pillar to recreate the familiar Sierra glasshouse effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SUV features a bold front fascia with connected Light Saber LED DRLs, a broad grille, heavy cladding, and large 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear design remains clean and boxy with an upright tailgate, preserving the classic Sierra stance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spacious Cabin with Premium Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the Sierra focuses on comfort and space. It comes with a 5-seater layout, light-themed upholstery, soft-touch materials, and a segment-leading 2730 mm wheelbase. The boot space stands at 622 litres, expanding to 1257 litres with the rear seats folded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology is a major highlight. Tata\u2019s new TheatrePro triple-screen setup includes a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment display, and a dedicated 12.3-inch passenger screen. The SUV supports 5G-enabled connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AR head-up display, and Level 2 ADAS with 22 functions. Buyers also get a 360-degree camera, JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and the segment\u2019s largest panoramic sunroof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tata is also bringing its Arcade Suite to the Sierra, allowing access to more than 30 entertainment apps\u2014something previously limited to its EV lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Engine Options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tata is offering the Sierra with three engines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol<\/strong>: 105 bhp, 145 Nm; available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCA automatic<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol<\/strong>: 158 bhp, 255 Nm; paired only with an automatic gearbox<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel<\/strong>: 116 bhp, 280 Nm; available with manual and automatic options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The turbo-petrol engine is limited to higher trims only, while the diesel engine is available across all seven variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Sierra also gets multiple drive modes and terrain modes (Normal, Wet, Rough), along with a new suspension featuring Frequency Dependent Damping for better comfort and handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The return of the Tata Sierra brings back a nostalgic name in a fully modern form. With competitive pricing, multiple engine choices, premium features, and a strong design identity, the new Sierra aims to make a powerful impact in the mid-size SUV segment.
