Hyundai Motor India Ltd. introduced a new variant of the TUCSON with Intellimatic 4 Wheel Drive<\/a> (4WD) system. The Tucson 4WD is priced at Rs. 25.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 4WD option would be available on the top-spec 2.0-litre GLS automatic variant. Bookings of the 4WD TUCSON<\/a> is open and available across all Hyundai dealerships in India.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the introduction of 4WD TUCSON, Mr. Y K Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “We are happy to introduce the most awaited 4WD Global SUV<\/a> \u2013 TUCSON to the Indian market. Introduction of 4WD is to bring to the customer the next level of cutting edge technology in Dynamic Styling, Athletic Performance, Advanced Safety and Smart Comfort as product innovation towards competitive advantage in fast growing SUV market while also enhancing the overall price value equation through value engineering and passing the price benefit to customer.”<\/p>\n

The new variant of TUCSON <\/a>comes with the 4WD System with \u2018On Demand 4WD Functioning\u2019. \u2018On Demand 4WD Functioning\u2019 automatically implements Rear Wheel Traction Control by assessing road conditions & maintain utmost traction on rough, lose or slippery surfaces, improving stability while cornering. Depending on the road conditions system will undersdtand the need of 4WD and engine driving power automatically get distributed to all 4 wheels without the driver\u2019s intervention.<\/p>\n

The On Demand 4WD Functioning makes better fuel efficiency as 4WD is not working all time. There is also a manual mode which helps to activate the 4WD function manually based on user demand. When manual mode is active torque will split of 50:50 between front and rear wheels.<\/p>\n
