Datsun’s popular model redi-GO<\/a> is finally getting an AMT version and it will be launched in the country very soon. The company has also started accepting pre-launch bookings for a minimum payment of Rs. 10,000 since last week.<\/p>\n

Datsun calls AMT unit ‘Smart Drive Auto’. The car gets a conventional shifter. It also has a ‘creep’ function, which allows the car to cruise at low speeds of 5-6 kmph without you having to depress the accelerator. This feature is really helpful in high traffic condition. The company calls it ‘Rush Hour Mode’.<\/p>\n

The Datsun redi-GO is based on the Renault Kwid platform but it is shorter and narrower. It offers better ground clearance, that helps it in looking larger.<\/p>\n

The redi-GO AMT will be available in the top variant. It will also get the driver-side airbag. There will be no \u2018AMT\u2019 badging on the car’s body. So, you cannot differentiate the manual redi-GO from the automatic. The inside of the car will also be the same.<\/p>\n

It will come with a Bluetooth-enabled audio system that was also available in 0.8-litre Sport and 1.0-litre Gold editions. It will also have a central locking system and keyless entry functions.\u00a0It will come with manual air-conditioning and front power windows. It has slightly different speedometer console. It also misses steering wheel adjustment and driver seat height adjustment<\/p>\n

Datsun redi-GO AMT will come with 1.0-litre i-SAT (999cc) engine. This engine will offer the power of 68PS @ 5,500rpm and 91Nm @ 4,250rpm torque.<\/p>\n

The redi-GO 1.0 AMT will be cheaper than Renault Kwid AMT and is also apparently the cheapest AMT in the Indian market as Tata Nano is almost discontinued. There is no information about the price and it\u00a0is expected to be priced between Rs 3.90-4 lakh. It will be official by the end of this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
