Volkswagen has expanded its SUV lineup in India with the launch of the new Tayron Life. Priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), the Tayron Life is Rs 5 lakh more affordable than the Tayron R-Line that was introduced earlier this year.
Unlike the sportier R-Line version, the Tayron Life focuses on a cleaner design and a practical five-seat layout. It also offers a significantly larger boot, making it a better option for buyers looking for a family SUV.
The Tayron Life follows Volkswagen’s latest design language with a more understated appearance than the R-Line model. It gets sleek LED headlights connected by a full-width LED light bar with an illuminated Volkswagen logo in the center. The front bumper features a wide air intake with horizontal slats, while the side profile includes roof rails, squared wheel arches, and subtle body cladding.
At the rear, the SUV comes with connected LED tail lamps, another illuminated Volkswagen logo, and a clean-looking bumper with integrated reflectors.
The Tayron Life rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, while the R-Line gets larger 19-inch wheels. It measures 4,792 mm in length, 1,853 mm in width, and 1,666 mm in Height. It has a wheelbase of 2,789 mm The SUV is 13 mm narrower and 1 mm taller than the Tayron R-Line, while the overall length and wheelbase remain unchanged.
Volkswagen is offering the Tayron Life in seven colour options: Grenadilla Black, Dolphin Grey, Oryx White, Oyster Silver, Cipressino Green, Nightshade Blue, and Ultraviolet

Inside, the Tayron Life gets a premium cabin with a black dashboard and a beige headliner. The dashboard features a minimalist design along with soft-touch materials and leatherette seat upholstery.
The SUV comes equipped with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker audio system, three-zone automatic climate control, dual wireless phone chargers, connected car technology, and 10-colour ambient lighting.
Other highlights include 12-way power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, heating, massage function and thigh support, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, and paddle shifters.
Since the Tayron Life is offered only as a five-seater, it provides much more luggage space than the Tayron R-Line. It offers 885 litres of boot space with all seats up. Folding the second row increases the cargo capacity to 2,090 litres. In comparison, the Tayron R-Line offers 345 litres of boot space, which expands to 1,905 litres with the rear seats folded.
Volkswagen has equipped the Tayron Life with several safety features, including:
The Tayron Life is powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine available in the Tayron R-Line. The engine produces 204 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and comes with Volkswagen’s all-wheel-drive system as standard.
The Volkswagen Tayron Life is priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), making it Rs 5 lakh cheaper than the Tayron R-Line.
