The third-generation Honda Amaze has taken a big leap in safety. In the latest crash test conducted by Bharat NCAP, the Amaze scored a full 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and 4-star for Child Occupant Protection.
According to the published results, Amaze scored 28.33 out of 32 points in adult protection (AOP) and 40.81 out of 49 points in child protection (COP).
In the frontal offset barrier test the car received 14.33 out of 16. It gives good protection to head, neck, and lower body of driver and passenger. The side movable barrier test returned 14/16, with slightly marginal chest protection for the driver. The side-pole impact also got a satisfactory result.

For child safety, the sedan performed well in dynamic crash tests and scored 23.81 out of 24. It also achieved full marks (12/12) in child seat installation (CRS) tests.
The car comes with six airbags, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, standard ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS with EBD, brake assist, and seatbelt reminders across all variants.
On selected trims the car also offers advanced driver-assistance features under the name Honda Sensing, which includes collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
These safety features along with the stronger body structure (built on Honda’s ACE design philosophy) helped the Amaze pass the crash tests convincingly.
Compact sedans in India often trade off safety for affordability. With this Bharat NCAP result, Amaze now enters a much shorter list of compact cars that combine practicality with serious safety credentials. Among its competitors, only a few have matched such high crash-test performance recently. For buyers who were looking at other compact sedans like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, this result means Amaze now competes not just on features and Honda’s brand reputation, but also on real-world safety validation. Earlier, safety concerns used to be a deciding factor in this class, but now Honda has addressed those concerns strongly.
Even though the Amaze got 4-star for child protection, the test data shows slight compromises. In the side impact test the driver’s chest protection was ‘marginal’ under AOP, and in COP the vehicle-assessment part got a modest 5 out of 13. This indicates that while the car does a great job at protecting adults and offers good child-seat support, there might still be scenarios (side impacts, complex collisions) where protection is not at par with what global top-tier sedans offer.

As someone who watches cars closely, I believe this safety rating transforms Amaze’s value proposition significantly. Earlier, it was chosen for its fuel efficiency, reliability, brand name and modest pricing. But now, Amaze becomes a strong match for urban families and first-time car buyers who care about everyday practicality and safety.
