Hyundai has refreshed the i20 lineup in India with new features and a few variant updates. The biggest highlight is the launch of the i20 Magna CVT at ₹8.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai has also introduced a new Magna Executive variant, while the Sportz (O) trim gets more premium features. These updates make the i20 more appealing to buyers looking for a stylish and feature-rich premium hatchback.
Hyundai has now added a CVT (continuously variable transmission) to the Magna variant, which was earlier available only from the Sportz trim. This move has made the automatic version of the i20 more affordable by nearly ₹58,000, as the Sportz CVT starts at ₹9.47 lakh.
The Magna CVT is priced at ₹8.89 lakh, making it one of the most affordable CVT-equipped hatchbacks in India. The variant also comes with a single-pane electric sunroof, a feature that was previously available only in higher variants like the Sportz(O) and above.

Interestingly, the price of the Magna manual remains unchanged at ₹7.79 lakh, despite these feature upgrades.
Hyundai has launched a new Magna Executive variant at ₹7.51 lakh (ex-showroom). This variant sits just above the base Era model and below the regular Magna.
While it does not come with a sunroof, it still offers important safety features like 6 airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which is an upgrade over the Era variant. It also gets 15-inch wheels with full wheel covers and a digital MID display.
This makes the Magna Executive a good pick for buyers looking for essential features and safety without spending too much.
The Sportz (O) trim now comes with features that were earlier available only in the top-end Asta variant. These include Smart key with push-button start/stop and a 7-speaker Bose sound system. These features bring a more premium experience to the mid-level i20 trim. However, these upgrades come with a price hike:
Despite the price increase, the added features make the Sportz (O) trim a better value for those who want a mix of tech and convenience.
The Hyundai i20 continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which offers 83 PS with the manual transmission, 88 PS with the CVT automatic, and 115 Nm of peak torque in both options. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The CVT option is now available in the Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta (O) variants. The Era, Magna Executive, and Asta are offered with a manual gearbox only.
Hyundai is offering 6 airbags as standard across the i20 lineup, which is a great move for passenger safety. Other safety features include ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), along with Rear parking sensors and camera. Top variants also get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Bose sound system, automatic AC with rear vents, ambient lighting, and sunroof.

The Hyundai i20 competes in the premium hatchback segment, where it goes up against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz. It is important to note that Tata Altroz 2025 facelift is also coming soon.
