Mahindra has launched the new XUV500 facelift starting at Rs. 12.32 Lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is still available in five variants but the company has changed the nomenclature. These variants are W5, W7, W9, W11 and W11 Optional (top-spec).
The XUV500 still comes with 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine but it now produces 15PS more power and 30Nm more torque due the new electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger. The 2.2-litre petrol engine hasn’t undergone any change. Both petrol and diesel models come with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. Base model of diesel engine packs automatic transmission and high-end of petrol engine variant lacks manual transmission.
The new car comes with major changes in inside and outside both. It gets new front grille, garnished with chrome elements. It also has minor tweaks to fog lamp bezel. It comes in optional 18-inch dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels.
It has faux leather trim on top of the dashboard and the dashboard layout remains the same. The central console is now finished in piano black. It also has new contrasting aluminum trims on the doors. It has the same 7-inch infotainment system but the BlueSense app can now be connected with the smartwatch and smartphone to control audio sources, climate and check vehicle information.
Safety features of the car includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control.
