Yamaha Motor has launched the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 in India. The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 is priced at Rs. 20.73 Lakh and comes with few of cosmetic upgrades, tech improvement, and new features.

This model will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will be available in two colours – Tech Black and Yamaha Blue.

Yamaha YZF-R1 is powered by a 998 cc, cross-plane, 4-cylinder, 4-valve engine that develops 200 hp without ram air pressurization. It delivers 200 PS @ 13,500 rpm and 112.4 Nm torque at 11,500 rpm. It also has a new Quick Shift System (QSS), which offers quicker changes through the gears without using the clutch.

It is 2055 mm long, 690 mm wide, 1150 mm tall. It has kerb weight of 199 kg and the wheelbase is of 1405 mm. The Front tyre size is 120/70/17 and rear tyre is 190/55/17.

The notable features of this motorbike include banking sensitive traction control, slide control, quick shifter, launch control, anti-wheelie control, unified braking system, lift control system, chip controlled throttle, and power delivery mode.

In terms of design, there are no major changes. It has M1 inspired front sporting the LED DRLs and headlamp The chassis remains the same as well sporting a long swingarm, magnesium rear frame, and magnesium wheels. Yamaha has also improved aerodynamics that posts it closer to the MotoGP attributes.
