Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Punch facelift in India. This is the first major update for the popular micro SUV since its debut. The new Punch comes with fresh design changes, more features, improved safety, and new powertrain options. Prices start at Rs 5.59 lakh, ex showroom, and bookings have opened from today.

The Accomplished Plus variant replaces the older Creative trim to match Tata’s newer SUV naming style. All announced prices are introductory, and Tata is expected to share the full variant wise price details soon.

The 2026 Punch facelift now looks closer to the Punch EV. The front gets new LED lighting elements and a sharper bumper with flatter lines. It looks cleaner and more premium than before, even though it does not get a full width LED DRL. The side profile remains mostly unchanged, with squared wheel arches and strong body cladding. However, the alloy wheel design is new. At the rear, the Punch now gets connected LED tail lamps, similar to bigger Tata SUVs like the Nexon and Harrier.
The new Punch measures 3,827 mm in length, 1,742 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2,445 mm, while ground clearance has increased slightly to 193 mm. Tata has also added new colour options, including Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Pristine White, Caramel, Daytona Grey, and Cyantific Blue.
The dashboard layout remains familiar, but several elements are new. The biggest highlight is the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with slimmer bezels. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with connected car features. The new two spoke steering wheel is borrowed from Tata’s latest models. The seats are also new and come with dual tone upholstery depending on the variant. Both front and rear passengers get armrests, although the rear one does not have cupholders. Tata has also improved rear seat comfort by adding extended under thigh support.

The Tata Punch facelift now offers a boot space of 366 litres. In the CNG version, this reduces to 210 litres. While the new touch based controls look modern, they may not be as easy to use as physical buttons while driving.
It gets a 360 degree camera, blind view monitor, 7-inch digital driver display, wireless phone charger, auto dimming IRVM, and an 8 speaker sound system. A single pane sunroof with voice assist continues from the previous model. Other features include automatic climate control with rear vents, keyless entry, cruise control, paddle shifters with AMT, air purifier, and multiple drive modes.

Six airbags are now standard across all variants. The car also gets ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS, rain sensing wipers, and auto headlamps. The previous Punch had scored five stars in Global NCAP, and the new facelift has achieved a five star rating from Bharat NCAP as well.
The Punch facelift is now available with three engine options. This includes a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol CNG version, and a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine borrowed from the Nexon. The turbo petrol engine produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, making it the most powerful Punch yet. Transmission options include manual and AMT, and Tata now also offers an AMT with the CNG variant, which is still rare in this segment.
| Engine | Fuel Type | Power | Torque | Transmission Options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2-litre | Petrol | 88 PS | 115 Nm | 5-speed Manual, 5-speed AMT |
| 1.2-litre | Petrol + CNG | 73.5 PS | 103 Nm | 5-speed Manual, 5-speed AMT |
| 1.2-litre Turbo | Petrol | 120 PS | 170 Nm | 6-speed Manual |
With this update, Tata has clearly aimed to keep the Punch fresh and competitive. The new design, long feature list, improved safety, and the addition of a turbo petrol engine make it feel closer to bigger SUVs. The Punch continues to compete with cars like the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, and Maruti Ignis, while also challenging slightly larger rivals such as the Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
