electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech has announced that it has received 450 bookings for the upcoming scooter Okinawa i-Praise electric scooter just in 15 days. According to this Gurugram-based company, Okinawa i-Praise is in high demand in Tier II and Tier III cities. Most of the scooters booked from Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Nasik, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Ambala, Vishakhapatnam, Mysore, Bulandshahar, Gorakhpur, Warangal, Trichy, and Thrissur. Booking for the scooter has been started last month across 200 dealerships in India. The all-new Okinawa i-Praise will be on sale later this month.
Elaborating on the bookings of the i-Praise, Okinawa Scooters – Managing Director, Jeetender Sharma said, “We had set an initial target of closing bookings for 500 Okinawa i-Praise units by January 15, 2019, and we are thrilled to announce that we have achieved 90 percent of this target well ahead of time. A major reason behind these really positive numbers is the fact that the e-scooter is equipped with detachable lithium-ion batteries that compellingly address the issues related to battery charging and the time consumed for the same. We have got a good response from Tier – II and Tier – III cities as well, which shows consumers in those cities are looking forward to accept the advanced technology and attracted towards the detachable battery. Further, the other USPs that make i-Praise “The Intelligent Scooter” such as its long charging range and reduced weight have made it a very appealing buy for consumers at a pan-India level.”
A major feature of Okinawa i-Praise is its detachable lithium-ion battery. First-time detachable battery introduced by Okinawa in the Ridge Plus scooter and now it comes to the Praise scooter. The battery could be charged at the location convenient to the owner. The facility could be used in the areas where electric sockets are not available in the parking areas.
The Okinawa i-Praise is powered by 1000 watt BLDC motor which generates the power for around 160 to 180 Km in a single charge. The battery takes around 2 to 3 hours to full charge while lead-acid batteries take around 8 hours. According to the company, the lithium-ion battery plays a significant role in saving the weight of around 30-40 percent.
Okinawa will introduce new features with the i-Praise which will be accessible with the Okinawa Eco app. Out of which main features are battery health tracker, navigation, service reminder, geofencing, vehicle status, SOS notifications, curfew hours and continuous monitoring.
