Honda Cars India has launched a new special edition of its popular SUV, Honda Elevate. This is a limited-run variant called the Apex Summer Edition and is aimed at boosting sales during the ongoing season. While it is based on the lower-spec V trim, Honda has given it a few visual and feature upgrades. Most importantly, it is priced lower than the standard model.
The Apex Summer Edition is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as the standard model. This engine delivers 121 hp and is available with both manual and CVT transmission options. The manual variant is priced at Rs. 12.39 lakh, while the CVT version costs Rs. 13.59 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). This makes the Apex Edition Rs. 32,000 cheaper than the regular V variant.
On the outside, the changes are subtle. There are Apex Edition badges, along with extra piano black finishes and a bit of chrome detailing to enhance the overall look. There are no major design changes otherwise.
Inside, Honda has given the SUV a fresh appeal with dual-tone white and black interiors, new leatherette seat covers, and matching door trim. Buyers will also get seat cushions as part of the special package.
One of the biggest upgrades is the addition of a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the 8-inch unit seen in the standard V variant. It also comes equipped with ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera, adding more convenience and a premium touch.
The Honda Elevate competes in the compact SUV segment, going up against models like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the upcoming Tata Curvv. With the Apex Summer Edition, Honda is trying to attract buyers looking for something a little different without spending more.
