Hyundai has added two new variants to its compact SUV, the Exter. The new trims, called S Smart and SX Smart, are designed to offer more choices to buyers by adding value between the existing variants. The S Smart is placed between the EX(O) and S trims, while the SX Smart fits between the S+ and SX trims.

What’s New in These Variants?

Both new variants come with a good mix of safety and comfort features. Hyundai is also making ISOFIX child seat anchors a standard feature across all Exter variants, making it safer for families with kids.

The S Smart variant gets:

• Electric sunroof
• LED tail lamps
• Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
• 15-inch steel wheels
• Rear AC vents
• LED daytime running lamps (DRLs)

The SX Smart variant is slightly better equipped and includes:

• Smart key with push-button start
• Electric sunroof
• 15-inch steel wheels
• Sharkfin antenna
• TPMS
• Projector headlamps

Buyers can also choose to upgrade both variants with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a rear camera. This upgrade is available as a genuine accessory for Rs. 14,999.

Engine and Powertrain Options

The new Exter variants come with both manual (MT) and automatic (AMT) gearboxes. They are available in petrol as well as Hy-CNG Duo versions. All variants are powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82 bhp and 113.8 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.
