Hyundai Motor India Ltd. introduced a new variant of the TUCSON with Intellimatic 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) system. The Tucson 4WD is priced at Rs. 25.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 4WD option would be available on the top-spec 2.0-litre GLS automatic variant. Bookings of the 4WD TUCSON is open and available across all Hyundai dealerships in India.

Commenting on the introduction of 4WD TUCSON, Mr. Y K Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “We are happy to introduce the most awaited 4WD Global SUV – TUCSON to the Indian market. The new variant of TUCSON comes with the 4WD System with ‘On Demand 4WD Functioning’. ‘On Demand 4WD Functioning’ automatically implements Rear Wheel Traction Control by assessing road conditions & maintain utmost traction on rough, lose or slippery surfaces, improving stability while cornering. Depending on the road conditions system will undersdtand the need of 4WD and engine driving power automatically get distributed to all 4 wheels without the driver’s intervention.

The On Demand 4WD Functioning makes better fuel efficiency as 4WD is not working all time. There is also a manual mode which helps to activate the 4WD function manually based on user demand. When manual mode is active torque will split of 50:50 between front and rear wheels.
