Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has won Indian Car of the Year 2018 (ICOTY) award for the Next Gen VERNA. Hyundai Motor India has already won 5 ICOTY Awards for its diffrent products like CRETA, ELITE i20, GRAND i10 and i10 in previous years. The ICOTY award is adjudged by a group of 18 members from diffrent automobile publications.

The Next Generation Verna launched in back 22nd august in India and with in 40 days of launch it received 15000 bookings. New Verna gets styling from its older sibling Elantra. The new-gen Verna is comes with two engine options – 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine that generates max power of 123 Ps and 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel engine that generates max power of 128 Ps. The engines is mated with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
