Kia has introduced a new electric concept car called the Kia Concept EV2. Interesting thing about this is that it is not your regular EV. This car is all about comfort, simplicity, and turning your car into a cozy picnic spot. Kia showed off this unique concept at the Milan Design Week, and it has caught everyone’s attention with its creative and practical interior. The company also revealed more about its design and the ideas behind it.
The EV2 is built to give you a break from your daily routine. The cabin has a flat floor, and you can fold the second-row seats and slide the front seats backward to open up the space. This is not meant for carrying big items. It is designed to create a relaxing area where you can sit, stretch out, and enjoy a snack or just chill.
Kia took the idea of having a picnic seriously. The car has detachable seat cushions and portable door speakers. So if you are driving through a scenic spot, you can stop, take your seat and speakers outside, and enjoy nature comfortably. It is like having a mobile picnic setup wherever you go.
The Kia Concept EV2 is meant to be an affordable city EV, perfect for running errands or short commutes. But it is not limited to city roads. Kia says it should have a range of at least 300 miles, so weekend trips and short getaways are totally possible.
Despite being compact, the EV2 makes smart use of space. You get side-extendable rear seating, Headrest-integrated speakers, and Pop-up luggage dividers. All these help make the most of the small space without losing comfort or practicality.
Kia has used sustainable materials inside the EV2. The dashboard and door panels are made with a cellulose-based compound, and the armrests use mycelium — a biodegradable material grown from fungus that binds waste together. It is cool to see carmakers using such eco-conscious materials.
The Kia Concept EV2 is expected to go on sale next year, and the price is likely to be around $30,000.
