KTM has just launched the much-awaited 390 Enduro R in India, and if you are someone who loves exploring rough trails and untamed terrains, this bike is going to get your heart racing. It I priced at ₹3,36,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is the most focused off-road machine KTM has offered in the Indian market so far.

The 390 Enduro R is not just a tweaked version of the 390 Adventure. It is a whole different beast designed specifically for serious off-road use. It is built on a 2-piece steel trellis frame, which is already known for its strength and rigidity. KTM has added 25 mm handlebar risers, strong sub-frame mounts, and off-road geometry to make it rally-ready out of the box.

What truly sets it apart is its long-travel suspension setup. At the front, you get a fully adjustable 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge fork with 200 mm of travel. The rear uses a WP APEX monoshock with 205 mm travel. And KTM has already confirmed that a second variant with 230 mm suspension travel is coming soon.

It rides on proper spoked wheels—21-inch front and 18-inch rear, wrapped in 90/90 R21 and 140/80 R18 tyres. These dimensions are standard for professional-grade dirt bikes and offer great control over broken roads, sand, gravel, and mud. Unlike alloy wheels, spoked wheels can handle rough abuse and are easier to repair in remote areas.

Under the tank is the new 399cc LC4c single-cylinder engine, the same one powering the 390 Duke Gen-3. But here, it is tuned and geared for torque-heavy low-end performance, which is essential for off-road riding.

The engine produces 45 PS and 39 Nm of torque, and it gets a host of upgrades like:

  • Larger valve cover and smaller cylinder head
  • New fuel injectors
  • Redesigned airbox
  • New exhaust setup

KTM has also refined the gearbox for quicker, smoother shifts. The bike comes with a mechanical slipper clutch as standard. Quickshifter+ is available as an optional add-on.

KTM has also refined the gearbox for quicker, smoother shifts. The bike comes with a mechanical slipper clutch as standard. Quickshifter+ is available as an optional add-on. This is not just a barebones dirt bike. KTM has packed the 390 Enduro R with smart tech to make your ride more enjoyable:

  • 4.2-inch digital instrument console with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation
  • USB-C charging port
  • Switchable ABS with a dedicated button
  • Street and Off-Road riding modes
  • Disengageable traction control (lean-sensitive MTC)

Off-Road mode lets the rear wheel slide more, and you can turn off traction control completely if you want to go full send.

The seat height is 890 mm, which is tall, but typical for off-roaders. The ground clearance is a massive 272 mm, meaning you can fly over rocks, logs, and massive potholes without worrying.

Despite all the hardware, the bike weighs just 159 kg (dry). With a 9-litre fuel tank, it is light and nimble for trail riding.
