Mahindra has introduced a new Formula E Edition of its BE 6 electric SUV, priced at Rs 23.69 lakh. This version is designed for buyers who want a regular electric SUV but with a strong racing-inspired personality. It arrives right before the company’s next major launch, the XEV 9S, and shows how Mahindra wants to build a deeper link between its road cars and its global Formula E programme.
The Formula E Edition stands out the moment you see it. Mahindra has taken design cues from its latest Gen 3.5 Formula E livery, but the changes go beyond stickers and colour accents. The front design is retuned with slim LED eyebrow-style DRLs, and the main headlamps now sit lower in the bumper as circular projectors. This gives the BE 6 a more focused and slightly aggressive look.
The body receives dark liquid-metal cladding, new front and rear skid plates, and a set of sporty graphics across the doors, fenders, bonnet and even the fixed-glass roof. Mahindra has added a 12-stripe pattern running from the roof to the bonnet, orange brake callipers, and a dual-spoiler setup at the rear. The usual C-shaped rear lights make way for a cleaner lightbar that matches the new front signature. The Edition is offered in four colours: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Tango Red and Stealth Black.
The interior keeps the same Formula E theme. There are orange accents across the cabin, with subtle FIA and Formula E branding on the dashboard, seats and even the seat belts. The steering wheel, controller, door straps and the start/stop button all get the same bold treatment. The SUV also adds a special startup animation and an exterior sound signature inspired by Formula E race cars. Mahindra even gives the start button a racecar-style protective flap, which adds to the experience.
The Formula E Edition is available in two variants, FE 2 and FE 3, priced at Rs 23.69 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh. Both use a 79kWh battery pack with an ARAI-rated range of 682 km. Power comes from a single motor that produces 282 bhp and 380 Nm. The focus here is on range and smooth performance rather than track-level power, but the styling and features give it an emotional edge.
Bookings will open on January 14, 2026, and deliveries will start from February 14, 2026. To make the launch more exciting, Mahindra has added several introductory benefits for the first 999 buyers. These include a track session at the Mahindra Proving Track with Formula 2 driver Kush Maini, a special collector’s box, and the option to choose a personal two-digit number for the SUV’s decal. Mahindra will even place the buyer’s first name on its Formula E race car for the London E-Prix, which is a rare and attractive touch for motorsport fans.
A few lucky customers will also win tickets for the 2026 London E-Prix with full paddock access and a meet-and-greet with the Mahindra Racing team.
The BE 6 Formula E Edition is clearly meant for enthusiasts who want something more emotional and more connected to the racing culture around electric mobility. It adds visual drama, unique features and a sense of exclusivity without changing the core strengths of the standard BE 6.
