New Hyundai Santro follows the design language of Hyundai Fluidic 2.0. It also borrows few design cues from Grand i10.

It features 17.46 cm touchscreen infotainment system with support to Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link. It also features USB connectivity, Steering mounted audio controls with voice recognition, Turn indicators on ORVMs, Gear Shift indicator, Electrically adjustable ORVMs, Front and Rear Power Windows, Rear Washer and Wiper and Distance to Empty indicators.

If I talk about safety features, it comes with Engine Immobilizer, Day and Night IRVM, Front Fog lamps, Rear Parking sensors with a parking camera, Keyless Entry, Driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD and Speed Sensing Auto Door lock.

The car is 3610 mm long, 1645 mm wide and 1560 tall. It has the wheelbase of 2400 mm. It uses McPherson Strut suspension at the front and Torsion Beam Axle suspension in the rear.

The new Santro is powered by 1.1 Litre Epilson petrol engine that makes 69PS of power and 99Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission along with AMT option. It will also be available with factory-fitted CNG kit. The AMT option is not available with CNG-powered Santro.

The 8 KG CNG tank is mounted in the boot of the Hyundai Santro. The CNG version also gets duel ECUs to provide a seamless switch between petrol and CNG.

Here is the claimed fuel efficiency.

PETROL MT 20.3KMPL
Petrol AMT 20.3kmpl
CNG 30.48km/kg

The car will be available in 7 color options including Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Stardust, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Diana Green, and Imperial Beige.

At this price, the car will compete against Maruti WagonR, Maruti Celerio, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and the Datsun GO facelift. So, it has tough competition. But Hyundai has already received over 23500 pre-bookings. This figure gives good hope to the company.
