The Indian car market has already had a busy year with launches like the Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra EV, and the updated Tata Tiago and Tiago EV. But the second half of the year could be even more exciting.

Several popular cars have already been spotted testing on Indian roads, suggesting that manufacturers are preparing mid-cycle updates for some of their best-selling models. While most of these updates are expected to focus on styling, interiors, and features rather than mechanical changes, they could make these cars even more competitive.

Here’s a look at some of the facelifted cars that are expected to arrive over the coming months.

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

Expected launch: August 2026

The Mahindra Scorpio N has been one of the brand’s biggest success stories since its launch. It brought a more premium design, improved comfort, and modern features while retaining the rugged appeal that made the Scorpio name popular. Spy shots suggest that Mahindra is now preparing a facelift. The updated SUV is expected to receive revised styling, refreshed interiors, and additional features. The launch could take place around August, possibly alongside other Mahindra SUV updates.

Mahindra Thar Facelift

Expected launch: August 2026

Mahindra is also working on an updated version of the Thar. Test vehicles have already been spotted multiple times, hinting that the launch is not far away. The facelift is expected to bring a redesigned grille, updated LED lighting, revised bumpers, and a refreshed cabin. While the mechanicals are likely to remain unchanged, the cosmetic upgrades should help keep the Thar fresh against newer rivals.

Skoda Slavia Facelift

Expected launch: August 2026

After refreshing the Kushaq, Skoda is now expected to turn its attention to the Slavia sedan. The facelifted Slavia is likely to receive styling revisions at both the front and rear, while the interior could get new trims and additional features. The existing turbo-petrol engine options are expected to continue without major changes.

Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

Expected launch: September 2026

Volkswagen’s popular sedan is also due for a mid-cycle update. The Virtus has built a strong reputation among driving enthusiasts, especially with its 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The facelift is expected to introduce a refreshed front design, updated lighting elements, and minor interior improvements while retaining the current engine lineup.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift

Expected launch: July 2026

The Brezza continues to be one of India’s most popular compact SUVs, thanks to its practicality, fuel efficiency, and wide variant lineup. The facelift could bring a redesigned front fascia, updated rear styling, new alloy wheels, and a refreshed cabin. The CNG variant may also benefit from Maruti Suzuki’s dual-cylinder technology, which improves luggage space.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

Expected launch: Late 2026

The Baleno remains one of the country’s best-selling premium hatchbacks, and a facelift could help it maintain that position. Expected updates include a revised front design, new LED lighting, refreshed interiors, and additional features. The fuel-efficient petrol engine is likely to remain unchanged.

Honda Elevate Facelift

Expected launch: Late 2026

Honda recently updated the City, and the Elevate could be next. The compact SUV is known for its spacious cabin, reliable naturally aspirated petrol engine, and straightforward ownership experience. The facelift is expected to introduce cosmetic changes along with a few new features while keeping the same powertrain.

Tata Tigor Facelift

Expected launch: October 2026

Following the updates to the Tiago, Tata Motors is expected to refresh the Tigor sedan as well. Patent images have already revealed parts of the new design. The facelift could bring updated styling, a redesigned dashboard, a larger infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and other feature additions.

Tata Nexon Facelift

Expected launch: Early 2027

The Tata Nexon continues to be one of India’s highest-selling SUVs, but Tata appears to be preparing another update to keep it ahead of the competition. Although the launch is expected in early 2027, test vehicles suggest development is already underway. The refreshed model could feature a revised exterior design, updated cabin, and additional technology while continuing with its wide range of petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrain options.

Should You Wait?

If you are planning to buy any of these models, waiting could be worth considering, especially if you value the latest styling and new features. Most facelift models are expected to retain their existing engines while offering refreshed designs and upgraded cabins.

However, if you find a good deal on the current versions, they still remain strong options, as facelifts usually focus on cosmetic and feature upgrades rather than major mechanical improvements.

With multiple popular SUVs, hatchbacks, and sedans expected to receive updates, the coming months could be one of the busiest periods for new car launches in India.
