Today Volvo India launched its much awaited premium SUV XC60 in India. The XC60 has been launched at a price of Rs. 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The all new XC60 developed on the company’s latest Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform. It comes only in one variant named as ‘Inscription’. This is second-generation of Volvo XC60 which is replacing older version which is available in India since 2011.
The Volvo XC60 is powered by a 1,969 cc four-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine that generates maximum power of 233 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 480 Nm at 1750 – 2250 rpm. The engine is mated with a 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission, sending power to all the four wheels. Petrol engine might be added in portfolio in future but Globally, the XC60 is available with a couple of petrol engines as well – T5 and T6, along with an entry-level diesel motor D4. All diesel and petrol engines are 2-litre turbocharged engines.
The new Volvo XC60 looks premium and more stylish as compared to its previous model. Exterior is based on the Volvo’s flagship SUV, the XC90. Multi-slat chrome grille with Volvo’s signature makes XC60 a premium and stylish. The new Volvo XC60 is decorated with a pair of stylish LED headlamps with Thor’s hammer LED daytime running lamps. A pair of small LED fog lamps is equipped at either side. The front bumper is equipped with some subtle lines, a wide central air dam and some stylish chrome elements.
The new Volvo XC60 measures 4688 mm in length, 1902 mm in width and 1658 mm in height. It comes with a wheel base of 2865 mm. The Volvo XC60 also equipped with a prominent character lines, bold shoulder line and electrically operable ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights. It comes with a stylish set of alloy wheels.
The rear of XC90 comes with a beefy rear bumper, vertically stacked LED tail lamps, chrome accents along the reflectors, a roof-mounted spoiler and chrome-tipped horizontal dual exhaust pipes.
The new Volvo XC60 features a 9.0-inch centre Sensus touchscreen system, driver assist features as well like – 360-degree camera, cooled/ heated front seats with a massage function, semi-automatic parking, blind-spot assist and lane departure warning
