Kia has officially revealed the next-generation 2026 Seltos in India. The new model brings a complete design overhaul, a longer body, more features, and the same wide range of engine options. Bookings will open on December 11, and Kia will announce the prices on January 2, 2026.

Variants and Trims

Kia has kept the variant lineup familiar. The 2026 Seltos will be offered in HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTX, HTX (A), GTX, GTX (A), and the X-Line. The X-Line continues as the sportier-looking trim with a stealth theme.

If you are confused about what to pick, these are the key variants to watch:

  • HTK (O): A balanced option with most important features.
  • GTX A: The full tech-loaded experience.
  • X-Line: The choice for buyers who want a bold and stylish look.

Design

The new Seltos is now one of the largest compact SUVs in its class. Kia has stretched the body to 4.46 metres, increasing cabin space and boot capacity.

What has changed compared to the older model?

  • Length: +95 mm
  • Width: +30 mm
  • Wheelbase: +80 mm
  • Boot space: Now 447 litres
  • Height: Slightly reduced by 10 mm

The larger dimensions also give the new Seltos a stronger road presence.

Kia has moved away from the earlier European-inspired look. The 2026 model has a more quirky and expressive design that aligns with Kia’s new global direction.

The SUV will be offered in 10 single-tone and 2 dual-tone colours. It offers LED headlamps that appear integrated into the grille. The car has new welcome and goodbye animation for the lights which feels good. It also has 16-inch steel wheels on base variants and 17/18-inch alloys on higher trims. The new motorised flush door handles look good. It has a cleaner rear design with the number plate now placed on the bumper. GTX variants get Neon brake calipers.

Interiors

Unlike the radical exterior changes, the interior has evolved gradually. Kia has borrowed several elements from models like the EV6 and Syros. It has a tri-screen layout inspired by the Syros and new steering wheel from the EV6. The dashbpard has Soft-touch panels. The infotainment and climate settings have Physical controls. It also gets 64-colour ambient lighting. It also has Improved rear seat space thanks to the longer wheelbase. The cabin feels more premium and practical without losing the original Seltos identity.

Features

The 2026 Seltos continues to offer a long list of features, and many of them are now upgraded.

Top features include:

  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display with lane watch camera feed
  • 5-inch climate control auxiliary screen
  • 8-speaker Bose sound system
  • 10-way powered driver seat with memory function
  • Dual-pane panoramic sunroof
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Head-up display
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Wireless charging
  • Drive and traction modes

The car maintains a good mix of tech, comfort, and convenience features.

Safety

The safety package is quite similar to the earlier model. You still get 6 airbags, Electronic stability control, All-wheel disc brakes, Hill-start assist, TPMS, 360-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS, New side parking sensors, and Electronic parking brake with auto-hold (AT only)

The previous-gen model scored 3 stars in the Global NCAP test. Kia is expected to improve structural safety this time.

Engines and Performance

Kia has retained the same engine options:

EnginePower/ TorqueTransmission Options
1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol115 PS/ 144 Nm6-speed MT/ CVT
1.5-litre turbo-petrol160 PS/ 253 Nm6-speed iMT/ 7-speed DCT
1.5-litre diesel116 PS/ 250 Nm6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT

The broad set of powertrains continues to be one of the Seltos’ biggest strengths.

Should You Consider the New Seltos?

The previous Seltos earned its popularity by offering good looks, a high-quality cabin, and plenty of features. The 2026 model takes those strengths and adds more space, more tech, and a refreshed design.

The updates may not be revolutionary in every area, but the Seltos remains a strong all-rounder in the compact SUV segment.

Expected Price and Rivals

Prices are expected to start at around ₹11.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia will reveal the final pricing in early 2026.

It will compete directly against Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Maruti VictoRis, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq
