Japanese carmaker, Isuzu Motors, has launched its new 7-seater SUV, the Isuzu MU-X MU-X in India. This SUV comes for starting price of Rs 23.99 lakh.

The Isuzu MU-X has3.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 174 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed sequential shift automatic transmission. It also offers 4×4 ‘Terrain Command’ variant with the electronic shift-on-the-fly rotary dial. This 4×4 version will get 4×4 high and 4×4 low ratios as well.

It claims to offer fuel efficiency of 13.8 Kmpl (4×2 AT variant). The ground clearance is 220mm.

The exterior of the car got host features including LED DRLs, projector headlamps, 17-inch diamond cut alloys, wing mirrors, roof-rails and chrome finish on the door handles.

It comes in four colors options for the body – Silky White Pearl, Orchid Brown Mica, Cosmic Black Mica and Titanium Silver Metallic.

The Mu-X is made of high tensile steel body construction. It has dual airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist.

It has electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, cruise control and a power outlet each for all three rows. It has roof-mounted 10-inch DVD monitor and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 8-speakers.

In International markets, the company has already launched the MU-X facelift model back in March 2017. This is the same model that was being sold internationally before March 2017. We expect to get the MU-X facelift model in India sometime in 2018.

The company will manufacture this car locally at Sri City-based manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. Now it has annual production capacity of 1.2 lakh units per annum.

This car will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
