MG has launched a new variant of its popular electric vehicle, the Windsor EV. This new variant is called the Exclusive Pro and is priced at ₹12.25 lakh (ex-showroom) under MG’s battery rental plan. It brings the larger 52.9 kWh battery pack to a more affordable price point.
The biggest highlight of the Windsor EV Exclusive Pro is its 52.9 kWh battery. This battery offers a claimed range of 449 km (MIDC). So, it is ideal for long-distance drives without range anxiety. Earlier, this larger battery was available only on the top-end Essence Pro variant, but now it is more accessible thanks to this new Exclusive Pro trim.
The Exclusive Pro sits between the Essence and Essence Pro variants in the Windsor EV lineup. Here is how it compares:
So, for just ₹25,000 more under the battery rental plan, buyers get the larger battery and a longer range. Even when bought fully, the Exclusive Pro is ₹85,000 cheaper than the top model.
The Exclusive Pro variant is available in three shades: Pearl White, Starry Black, and Turquoise Green. While it does not offer the new Clay Beige colour introduced in the Essence Pro, it features the Ivory White and Black interior theme, which gives it a fresh and premium feel.
Just like the top variant, the Exclusive Pro comes with some impressive features. It includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system. The rear seats recline up to 135 degrees, ensuring comfort for backseat passengers.
However, to keep the price in check, this variant misses out on the fixed glass roof and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). There is no ADAS badge on the tailgate, which confirms the absence of this feature.
The performance figures remain the same. The Exclusive Pro produces 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque – just like the other Windsor EV variants. But thanks to the bigger 52.9 kWh battery, you now get up to 449 km of range, compared to 332 km in the 38 kWh version.
With this new variant, MG strengthens its position in the affordable premium EV space. The Windsor EV continues to be one of India’s best-selling electric cars, and this move makes it a stronger competitor against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.
