Second-Gen Audi Q5 Launched At Rs. 53.25 Lakh

Audi has launched the second generation Audi Q5 in Indian market at starting price of Rs 53.25 lakh. It will be available in two variants: Technology and Premium Plus priced at Rs. 53.25 lakh and Rs. 57.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

The new Q5 is based on Volkswagen group’s MLB Evo platform. So, the new Q5 is up to 90kg lighter than the outgoing version.

The Q5 measures 4663mm x 2141mm x 1658mm (LxWxH), so it is longer, wider and taller than the ongoing model of Q5. The wheelbase has also gone up by 12mm and now stands at 2819mm. It has kerb weight of this car is 1,990 kg and Fuel tank capacity is 70 liters.

The next Gen Audi Q5 features a single-frame chrome grille flanked by LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The rear side gets a new set of LED taillamps and dynamic turn indicators. The rear bumper has been redesigned to get silver scuff plate. The side profile has curvy shoulder line and also gets a silver undertray with faux exhaust tips.

When you look inside, you will feel that the dashboard is quite similar to any other Audi car. It has familiar dual-tone finish and a faux-wooden insert. It also has redesigned 8.3-inch floating touchscreen. The car gets smartphone integration, voice command recognition, onboard navigation system and 10 GB internal storage.

The car works on updated Audi MMI system. Other features including 3-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery and electrically adjustable leather seats and more.

The Second-Gen Audi Q5 is powered by 1,968 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 188 BHP @ 3,800-4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. It has 7-speed automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive system. The car can go from 0-100 kmphh in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 218 kmph.

The company claims the fuel economy of 17.01 kmpl that is better than the outgoing model of Audi Q5.

It also has 5-link suspension setup with adaptive dampers and 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels. The Q5 comes with 8 airbags, ABS, EBD and electronic stability control (ESC) As security features.

The new Q5 will compete with luxury SUVs including Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Lexus NX 300h and the new Volvo XC60.
