Skoda Karoq is Coming to Replace the Skoda Yeti!

Skoda has announced its new SUV Skoda Karoq will Replace the Skoda Yeti internationally. This Skoda Karoq will be announced officially on May 18. The new name “Karoq” is derived from the language of Alaska’s indigenous people. It the combination of the terms “KAA’RAQ” (car) and “RUQ” (arrow).

The new Skoda Karoq looks like a smaller variant of Kodiaq. The company has also started teasing the car ahead of official launch.

Skoda Karoq was caught testing in Europe and we saw various images released by Skoda. It features a unique styling and is based on MQB platform. It features crystalline elements. The front of the car has a three-dimensional design. The radiator grille is framed by a chrome trim. The company also claims that the headlights are inspired by the rich traditions of Bohemian glass art. LED lamps are also being used for taillights that are in ‘C’ shape.

There would be a new grille with vertical chrome slats. It also gets newly designed alloy wheels. It also offers styling bits like muscular tones, sharp creases, roof rails, integrated turn indicators on wing mirrors and blacked-out glass area.

It sports 5-seat layout. The company has also added entirely new design with superior interior quality. Key features of Skoda Karoq include 9.2-inch touchscreen display, support for Apple CarPlay, Mirror Link & Android Auto, Wireless Phone charging, climate control, Park Assist, Lane Assist, Blind spot detection, WLAN Hotspot, Multiple driving modes, Hill hold control, Pedestrian braking systemFully programmable digital instrument cluster and Radar-based adaptive cruise control.

Skoda Karoq will come in two petrol and three diesel engine options ranging from an 113 BHP 1.0 L Turbo Petrol to an 189 BHP 2.0 L Diesel. All engines will come with a 6-speed manual as standard. It will also have 7-speed DSG. This high-end model is expected to get Skoda’s Drive Mode Select System. It triggers drivetrain through different modes.

Skoda Karoq is expected to come in India next year. So, talking about price will not be a good idea at this moment. If you just want an idea, it is expected to be priced in between Rs. 18 Lakh to Rs. 21 Lakh.
