Skoda is launching its new entry-level sedan the All-New Skoda Slavia in India. It is built on the India-specific MQB AI 2.0 India platform. The price of Skoda Slavia has not been confirmed yet but is expected to be in between ₹ 10-15 lakhs.

Skoda Slavia is probably a replacement for the Skoda Rapid that was discontinued last month. This upcoming Skoda car will directly take on the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. 

Skoda is now taking bookings and will start delivering in March 2022

Design

Skoda Slavia is a coupe sedan. It has an aggressive look because of its butterfly grill and sharp LEd headlamps. 16-inch dual-tone alloys enhance its looks. It has strong body lines across the body with c-shaped dual unit LED taillights.

Engine

Skoda Slavia comes with two petrol engine options –

• 1 Litre TSI
• 1.5 Litre TSI with active cylinder technology

The 1 Litre TSI engine comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter while the 1.5 Litre TSI comes with 6-speed Manual and A 7 speed DSG Gearbox.

 Features

One of the most eye-catching technologies of the Skoda Slavia is ACT(active cylinder technology). This Technology cuts off two cylinders while the load on the engine is low. This technique increases the fuel efficiency of the car.

Furthermore, it has a 10-inch infotainment system and an 8-inch driver display with connected car tech.

It has rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and ventilated front seats.

Safety

The name Skoda says it all for safety. It has 6 Airbags, ABS, EBD, hill hold control, Rear Disc Brakes. 

Multi Collision braking is a new technology by Skoda to prevent multi collisions in case of an accident.

Pricing

Skoda has not revealed the exact pricing. But, the expected pricing is between 10-15 Lakhs.

Competition

Skoda Slavias main rivals are Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. As there have been no updates major in these cars for the last few years the Skoda Slavia is expected to outperform these cars
