Tata has showcased the automatic version of Nexon at the Auto Expo 2018. The new car comes with 6-speed AMT transmission. With this update, this car has become only sub-4m SUV to offer an automatic option with both petrol and diesel engines.

The Petrol variant is powered by 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine that makes 108 Bhp-170 Nm and the 1.5 liter turbodiesel engine with 108 Bhp-260 Nm. Both features 6 speed AMTs with a creep function. This creep function is useful in heavy traffic conditions.

There is also a hill-hold function that prevents vehicle from rolling back while trying to move forward on an incline. This feature makes it unique. Tata has also brought its Eco, City and Sport driving modes on the Nexon AMTs.The tiptronic function allows the driver to manually shift up and down.

There is no change in the design but the AMT model will be seen in a new colour option – Etna Orange.

We are not sure where this will be launched. But it will surely give Tata an advantage over rivals. Currently the Nexon is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The AMT variant will cost around 40k more than their corresponding manual ones.
