Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Tiago facelift in India with a starting price of Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated hatchback gets major design changes, a refreshed interior, more premium features, and improved safety equipment. With this update, Tata is trying to make the Tiago look and feel much more upmarket while still keeping it affordable for budget hatchback buyers.

The Tiago has been one of Tata’s most important small cars in India. It has always been known for its strong build quality and safety, but the design and cabin had started feeling dated compared to newer rivals. The facelift changes that with a sharper exterior and a feature-packed cabin.

Tata Tiago Facelift Price and Variants

Tata is offering the new Tiago facelift in six variants: Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Pure Plus A, Creative, and Creative Plus. Buyers can choose between petrol and CNG versions along with manual and AMT gearbox options.

The petrol manual range starts at Rs 4.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.29 lakh. The CNG variants start at Rs 5.79 lakh and go up to Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom).

The company says these are introductory prices.

Tata Tiago Facelift Gets a Sharper New Design

The biggest change in the new Tiago facelift is its updated design. Tata has completely redesigned the front fascia to make the hatchback look more modern and aggressive.

The old rounded styling is now gone. In its place, the Tiago gets sleek rectangular LED headlamps with eyebrow-style LED DRLs. The new lighting setup gives the hatchback a much more premium appearance.

The front grille has also been cleaned up. Tata removed the chrome strip from the older model and added a gloss-black treatment around the Tata logo. The bumper is now more muscular and features larger air intakes.

Another major addition is the new pixel-style LED fog lamps placed inside black surrounds. These details help the Tiago stand out from older hatchbacks in the segment.

One of the most surprising additions is the 360-degree camera system. Cameras are mounted on the ORVMs and front bumper, making the Tiago one of the few hatchbacks in this segment to offer such a feature.

From the side, the overall silhouette remains similar to the outgoing model, but Tata has added redesigned 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The wheel arches now get black cladding, giving the hatchback a slightly rugged look.

At the rear, the Tiago now features connected LED tail lamps with triple vertical lighting signatures linked by a light bar. The bumper has also been redesigned and now looks chunkier than before.

Tata has also added a roof spoiler and shark-fin antenna to improve the sporty appearance.

New Interior Looks More Premium

The cabin has received a major upgrade as well. Tata has replaced the older all-black interior with a dual-tone black and light grey theme. This makes the cabin feel more spacious and premium.

The dashboard design now looks cleaner and more modern. Gloss-black inserts can be seen across the centre console, steering wheel, and door trims.

The AC vents and climate control switches have also been redesigned. Tata continues to offer physical AC controls, which is good because they are easier to use while driving.

A major highlight is the new free-standing digital driver’s display. The old analogue instrument cluster is now gone. The infotainment system is also now free-standing and looks more premium than before.

The steering wheel now gets mounted controls along with gloss-black detailing.

More Features Than Before

The Tiago facelift gets a much longer equipment list than before. Tata has added a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

The hatchback also gets dual wireless phone chargers, which is still rare in this segment. Other features include rear AC vents, automatic climate control, rear USB charging ports, cruise control, ambient lighting, connected car technology, push-button start, and auto-folding ORVMs.

The AMT variants also get paddle shifters, which is an unusual feature in a small hatchback.

The Tiago continues to offer a spacious cabin with wide seats and usable rear-seat space, making it practical for daily city driving.

Safety Gets a Big Upgrade

Safety has always been one of the strongest points of the Tiago, and Tata has improved it further with the facelift.

The Tiago now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants. It also gets ESC, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, TPMS, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and the new 360-degree camera with blind-view monitor.

Higher variants also offer automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. However, Tata still does not offer ventilated front seats or a sunroof.

Same Petrol and CNG Engines Continue

Mechanically, the Tiago facelift remains unchanged. It continues with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The petrol version produces 86 PS power and 113 Nm torque. The CNG version also produces 86 PS in petrol mode and 73.4 PS in CNG mode. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT transmission.

Tata continues to offer factory-fitted CNG variants, which should attract buyers looking for lower running costs.

Tata Wants the Tiago to Feel More Premium

With this facelift, Tata is clearly trying to make the Tiago feel more premium without pushing it into a higher price segment. Features like connected LED tail lamps, a 360-degree camera, dual wireless chargers, and a large touchscreen are usually seen in more expensive cars. Tata is now bringing those features to an affordable hatchback.

The updated Tiago will continue competing against the Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Celerio, and Citroen C3.
