Honda Cars has finally confirmed the launch date of new Honda Amaze. It will be launched on May 16, 2018. The new Amaze made its debut in India at 2018 Auto Expo in February and Honda started taking pre-booking starting this month without confirming the possible launch.
Now we know that the cat will be launched next month. It will be competing with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Tata Zest and Volkswagen Ameo. Upcoming Ford Aspire will also compete with it.
The second generation Amazon comes with notable changes in terms of design. It is based on new platform that will also be used in upcoming brio. It has revised side profile with a slightly lower roofline. It loses sloping bonnet and has more aggressive hood. The grille has been revised and the car is wider than before.
It comes with latest infotainment system Digipad 2.0. It has 7.0-inch touchscreen unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It will also provide MirrorLink for compatible phone models. It will support Wi-Fi with option to browse web, check emails and see live navigation options.
It comes with same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options along with standard 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel models will get a segment-first CVT automatic option.
The company claims fuel efficiency of 17.8kmpl/18.1kmpl (CVT) with petrol and 25.8kmpl with the diesel engine.
Prices of first gen Honda Amaze start at Rs 5.85 lakh and go up to Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The second gen will be more expensive but we will have to wait for few more days to know the price. Prices may go up by Rs 10,000-15,000, depending on the variant.
