Renault India has officially revealed the India-spec new-generation Duster ahead of its launch, which is expected to take place in the coming months. The popular SUV makes a comeback after a three-year gap and brings major changes in design, interiors, features, and powertrain options. Pre-bookings for the new Renault Duster are now open at Rs. 21,000.

Customers who pre-book the SUV will get benefits such as priority delivery, special introductory pricing, and complimentary ‘Gang of Duster’ merchandise. Renault has also confirmed that select customers may get a chance to witness the new Duster being built.

The 2026 Renault Duster gets a fresh and rugged design while retaining its iconic boxy silhouette. It features rectangular LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, bold Duster lettering on the grille, silver skid plates, and black body cladding all around. The SUV also comes with C-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a light bar, an integrated rear spoiler, and a shark-fin antenna. Renault is offering the Duster in six colours, including Jade Mountain Green, Pearl White, Moonlight Silver, Stealth Black, River Blue, and Sunset Red. Dual-tone options will also be available.

The new Duster gets a complete cabin overhaul. It comes with a dual-screen setup on the dashboard, a new three-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV also offers premium features such as powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree camera.

Safety has also been improved. The new Duster gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and camera-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The ADAS suite includes features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. These safety features help make driving more confident and secure.

Renault has confirmed three engine options for the India-spec Duster. This includes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 100bhp, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with up to 160bhp, and a 1.8-litre strong hybrid setup with electric motors. Manual and automatic gearbox options will be available, depending on the variant. The hybrid version is expected to go on sale later in the year.

Engine Options

The new Renault Duster is built on the R-GMP platform and offers a ground clearance of 212mm. It also claims up to 700 litres of boot space when measured up to the roof, making it practical for long trips.

Prices of the new Renault Duster are expected to be announced by mid-March 2026, with a starting price likely around Rs. 10 lakh ex-showroom. Deliveries of the turbo-petrol variants are expected to begin in April, while the hybrid versions will be available closer to Diwali.

The new Duster will compete with popular compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. With its strong legacy and modern upgrades, Renault is hoping the new Duster can once again make a strong impact in the Indian market.
