Toyota has launched a limited-edition model of the Platinum Etios with few updates. Price of Petrol variant starts at Rs 7.84 lakh and price of diesel variant starts at Rs 8.94 lakh (both, ex-showroom Delhi). The Platinum Edition is available only for limited time.
There is no mechanical upgrades but the company has included a new paint scheme with some small changes.
Etios Platinum Limited Edition gets a new colour option Phantom Brown. You also have an option of Pearl White from the standard version. The canning gets a new dual-tone upholstery to match the exterior color. It has 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The only disappointing thing is that the car does not get Android Auto or Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The petrol variant comes with 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that is tuned for 89 bhp at 5600 rpm and 132 Nm of peak torque at 3000 rpm. The diesel variant comes with 1.4-litre four-cylinder D-4D motor with 67 bhp at 3800 rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque available between 1800-2400 rpm. Both the variants got the 5-speed manual transmission.
It will compete with Tata Tigor, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz.
Few weeks back, Toyota India launched Yaris sedan and showcased it at Auto Expo 2018. The car will be launched in April this year.
